Purpose: We report the use of a pericapsular nerve group (PENG) cryoneurolysis for longer-term analgesia in a patient with a hip fracture and severe medical comorbidities as an alternative to hip fracture surgery.
Clinical Features: A frail but lucid and fully autonomous 97-yr-old female from an assisted living facility sustained a subcapital fracture of her right proximal femur following a ground level fall. She had significant comorbidities including end-stage respiratory disease.
Incorporating molecular testing for human papillomavirus (HPV) into the screening of cervical specimens can improve risk stratification and, in turn, patient management. Infection with a high-risk (HR) HPV genotype is associated with greater risk for persistent infection, viral integration, and progression of cervical neoplasia. Current guidelines consider HPV 16 or HPV 18 clinically actionable with referral to colposcopy; however, 12 Other HR HPV genotypes have been associated with cervical cancer risk, suggesting a benefit of extended genotyping.

We developed a 90-day mortality risk model utilizing The Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Intermacs Database (STS Intermacs).
Methods: STS Intermacs was queried for primary durable LVAD implants from 1/ 2019 - 9/2023.
Importance: Three similar phase 3 randomized clinical trials have investigated PD-1/PD-L1 (programmed cell death 1 protein/programmed cell death 1 ligand 1) inhibitors in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy vs chemotherapy alone as first-line treatment for advanced urothelial carcinoma (IMvigor130, atezolizumab; KEYNOTE-361, pembrolizumab; and CheckMate901, nivolumab). Only CheckMate901 reported overall survival (OS) benefit for the combination. The reason for these inconsistent results is unclear.

Background: The main technique for identification of free flap perforator vessels is Doppler sonography, which is not always accurate, user dependent and affected by the patient's body habitus.
Methods: Adult patients undergoing head and neck resection and free flap reconstruction at two academic institutions were enrolled. Doppler sonography was used to identify perforators, and were marked using a skin marker.
