Background: The physiological effects of renin-angiotensin system modulation in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) remain controversial and have not been investigated in randomized trials. We sought to determine whether angiotensin-II treatment is associated with improved oxygenation in shock-associated ARDS.
Methods: Post-hoc subgroup analysis of the Angiotensin Therapy for High Output Shock (ATHOS-3) trial.
Background: During continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), anticoagulants are recommended for patients at low risk of bleeding and not already receiving systemic anticoagulants. Current anticoagulants used in CRRT in the US are systemic heparins or regional citrate. To better understand use of anticoagulants for CRRT in the US, we surveyed nephrologists and critical care medicine (CCM) specialists.

Methods: Becton Dickinson BACTEC™ 9000 series (Bactec) (2018) and Virtuo system (2020) were utilized in a decentralized and centralized process, respectively. Data collected in August-December in 2018 and 2020 were analyzed with SPSS (ver 28).
Salt caverns have been successfully used for natural gas storage globally since the 1940s and are now under consideration for hydrogen (H) storage, which is needed in large quantities to decarbonize the economy to finally reach a net zero by 2050. Salt caverns are not sterile and H is a ubiquitous electron donor for microorganisms. This could entail that the injected H will be microbially consumed, leading to a volumetric loss and potential production of toxic HS.

Methods: Exploratory post-hoc analysis of the Angiotensin II for the Treatment of High-Output Shock (ATHOS-3) trial data.
