A national survey to map IPE in Ireland.

Interprofessional education (IPE) in Ireland is at an early stage. Currently, there is no data to reflect the amount and type of IPE occurring across the Island of Ireland. To support IPE implementation, data is needed on existing IPE which will identify gaps and foundations on which to build.

Measurement-based care training curriculum in psychiatry residency programs: I: Description of the curriculum and demonstration of implementation.

Background: Recent literature shows that most practicing psychiatrists do not receive training in measurement-based care (MBC). Among the primary barriers to MBC implementation are the lack of formal training and curriculums. We present the first comprehensive MBC curriculum for use in adult psychiatric practice, and describe how the curriculum is adapted and implemented in psychiatry residency training programs.

Intentional Foreign Body Ingestion: A Complex Case of Pica.

Intentional ingestion of foreign objects, a form of self-injurious behavior, is rarely discussed in the medical literature but often requires extensive evaluation, management, and resources. It can be especially problematic for gastroenterologists, who are often consulted for removal of the foreign body. Pica is the psychiatric diagnosis for intentional ingestion of nonnutritive objects and is most commonly seen in prison inmates and those diagnosed with intellectual disability or psychiatric illness.

Whole-body vibration training increases vertical jump height in a dance population.

Whole-body vibration (WBV) training has gained popularity with the strength and conditioning environment. Previous research reported improvements in strength and power after WBV interventions in untrained individuals with little hypertrophical development of the muscles, suggesting that the improvements are because of neuromuscular adaptations. The present intervention study recruited moderately trained individuals that have jumping as integral to their training.

A survey of U.S. Atlanta and Nagano Olympians: variables perceived to influence performance.

The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency and magnitude of specific variables perceived to have affected U.S. Olympic athlete performance.
