Microplastic appraisal of soil, water, ditch sediment and airborne dust: The case of agricultural systems.

Although microplastic pollution jeopardizes both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, the movement of plastic particles through terrestrial environments is still poorly understood. Agricultural soils exposed to different managements are important sites of storage and dispersal of microplastics. This study aimed to identify the abundance, distribution, and type of microplastics present in agricultural soils, water, airborne dust, and ditch sediments.

Strategies for dealing with uncertainty in time-relaxed sports timetabling.

Time-relaxed sports timetables use more time slots than strictly needed, and are particularly popular in amateur (indoor) leagues. However, due to unexpected events, a considerable number of games may not be played as initially planned before the start of the tournament, leading to a potentially very different realized timetable. This study focuses on dealing with these uncertain events in time-relaxed round-robin sports timetabling, and how to mitigate their effect on the quality of the timetable.

French cross-cultural adaptation and validity of the Moorong Self-Efficacy scale: the MSES-FR, a measure of Self-Efficacy for French people with spinal cord injury.

Purpose: To adapt the Moorong Self-Efficacy Scale (MSES) in the French language and determine its psychometric proprieties.

Materials And Methods: After a back-translation process, an expert committee was solicited to develop the French Self Efficacy Scale, thanks to a Delphi method, regarding theoretical framework and concepts explored. A total of 201 patients with SCI were included to explore internal consistency, internal and external structure validity assessed with the General Self-Efficacy scale, MOS Health Survey Short-Form, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Way of Coping Check-list, Perceived Stress Scale, Social Support Questionnaire, Self-Esteem questionnaire, and Satisfaction With Life Scale.

Collection of human and environmental data on pesticide use in Europe and Argentina: Field study protocol for the SPRINT project.

Current farm systems rely on the use of Plant Protection Products (PPP) to secure high productivity and control threats to the quality of the crops. However, PPP use may have considerable impacts on human health and the environment. A study protocol is presented aiming to determine the occurrence and levels of PPP residues in plants (crops), animals (livestock), humans and other non-target species (ecosystem representatives) for exposure modelling and impact assessment.
