Background: Point-by-point ablation with a high-power short-duration (HPSD) technique in atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation is used worldwide. Little data is available with the HPSD and dragging technique (DT).

Objective: To perform a multivariate analysis of clinical and procedural predictors of success and recurrence in HPSD with DT.

: Chest X-ray (CXR) is currently the most used investigation for clinical follow-up after major noncardiac thoracic surgery. This study explores the use of lung ultrasound (LUS) as an alternative to CXR in the postoperative management of patients who undergo major thoracic procedures. : The patients in our cohort were monitored with both a CXR and a lung ultrasonography after surgery and the day after chest drain removal.

Background: Research work has shown that hippocampal subfields are atrophic to varying extents in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. However, studies examining the functional implications of subfield-specific hippocampal damage in early MS are limited. We aim to gain insights into the relationship between hippocampal atrophy and memory function by investigating the correlation between global and regional hippocampal atrophy and memory performance in early MS patients.

Introduction: Lesion size index (LSI) was introduced with the use of Tacticath™ and as a surrogate of lesion quality. The metric used to achieve the predetermined values involves combined information of contact force (CF), power and radiofrequency time. Rapid atrial pacing (RAP) and high-frequency low-tidal volume ventilation (HFLTV) independently or in combination improve catheter stability and CF and quality of lesions.

Background: Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) reduces functional capacity and raises cardiovascular risks, but underdiagnosis is common, resulting in less comprehensive care than other cardiovascular conditions. While diabetes has long been viewed as a key risk factor for PAD, recent studies indicate that its impact is influenced by the presence of concurrent cardiovascular risk factors. The aim of this study is to elucidate the intricate relationship between the prevalence of PAD, diabetic complications, and cardiovascular risk factors among asymptomatic patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
