Objective: Evaluation of the safety and effectiveness of Relatox, botulinum toxin type A in patients with focal spasticity (FS) of the upper limb as a result of a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) or traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Material And Methods: A multicenter, prospective, single-blinded, randomized, comparative clinical study included 210 patients of both sexes aged 18-75 years after moderate to severe TBI and CVA in seven sites in the Russian Federation. The patients were randomized into two groups.
Despite the critical role of sintering phenomena in constraining the long-term durability of nanosized particles, a clear understanding of nanoparticle sintering has remained elusive due to the challenges in atomically tracking the neck initiation and discerning different mechanisms. Through the integration of in situ transmission electron microscopy and atomistic modeling, this study uncovers the atomic dynamics governing the neck initiation of Pt-Fe nanoparticles via a surface self-diffusion process, allowing for coalescence without significant particle movement. Real-time imaging reveals that thermally activated surface morphology changes in individual nanoparticles induce significant surface self-diffusion.

Considering the PubMed, Google, the Springer Link online library and the Cochrane Systematic Review databases, we analyzed the reviews, prospective and retrospective studies devoted to comparison of these most common methods of treating inguinal hernias. Indications and contraindications for endoscopic hernia repair, features of laparoscopic surgeries, causes of conversion to open interventions, early and long-term results of laparoscopic and open operations were estimated.

While PMNs are essential to clearance of invading microbes, the major PMN antimicrobial enzyme myeloperoxidase (MPO) can also promote bystander tissue damage. We hypothesized that blocking MPO would attenuate acute colitis and prevent the development of chronic colitis by limiting bystander tissue damage.

A particularly promising area is iron-catalyzed graphitization, which is the conversion of organic matter to graphitic carbon nanostructures by an iron catalyst. In this paper, it is reported that iron-catalyzed graphitization occurs via a new type of mechanism that is called homogeneous solid-state catalysis.
