Management of a patient with multiple recurrences of fibromatosis (desmoid tumor) of the breast involving the chest wall musculature.

Background: Fibromatosis or desmoid tumor is a rare soft tissue tumor that lacks a metastatic potential, but is characterized by a locally aggressive and infiltrating growth pattern and a high propensity toward local recurrence if incompletely excised.

Case Presentation: We report a patient with three post-surgical recurrences of fibromatosis of the breast over a seven year period. The fibromatosis was found to be involving the chest wall musculature and causing persistent and worsening pain.

The graveyard shift: experience with a night float system.

The aim of this study is to describe the effects of a new night float system on the circadian rhythm and clinical judgment of our residents. In addition, the study looks at the residents' opinions of how to optimize the night float system in the future. All 20 of the radiology residents at our institution completed a questionnaire about the night float system after completing their night float coverage.

An unusual case of cat-scratch disease from Bartonella quintana mimicking inflammatory breast cancer in a 50-year-old woman.

Cat-scratch disease of the breast has been previously reported. This report describes a very unusual case of cat-scratch disease of the breast caused by Bartonella quintana in which the clinical and radiographic presentation mimicked that of inflammatory breast cancer.

Radiofrequency ablation of invasive breast carcinoma followed by delayed surgical excision.

Background: Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is gaining acceptance as a treatment modality for several tumor types. However, its use in patients with breast carcinoma remains investigational. The current study was undertaken to determine the feasibility of treating small breast malignancies with RFA and to evaluate the postablation magnetic resonance imaging scans (MRI) and histologic findings.

Partial tear of pectoralis major muscle masquerading as a breast mass in an 87-year-old woman. A case report.

We report on a case of a partial tear of the pectoralis major muscle mimicking a breast mass in an elderly patient. Breast MR was useful in identifying the traumatic muscular injury and in demonstrating the lack of any intraparenchymal breast lesion.
