The present investigation aims to examine the role of α-synuclein seed amplification assays for screening Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's disease (PD) is a debilitating neurodegenerative disorder caused by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the midbrain, leading to symptoms such as tremors, bradykinesia, postural instability, dementia, and depression. It is classified as an α-synucleinopathy related to the role of α-synuclein aggregates in neuron degeneration.

Global climate policy has increasingly acknowledged the specific contributions of Indigenous Peoples. The outcome of COP 28, however, demonstrates that this acknowledgement has not shifted the conceptual foundations of dominant climate solutions, nor has it created space for Indigenous Peoples to effectively contribute. Drawing on our expertise as Indigenous scholars and practitioners, we offer four recommendations to shift climate policy and research away from these foundations towards reciprocal relationships with the natural world – strengthening it for future generations.

The speciation of technetium in the nitric acid/dibutylphosphoric acid (HDBP)--dodecane system was studied by extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectroscopy and theoretical methods. Tetravalent technetium, produced by the hydrazine reduction of TcO in 3 M HNO, was extracted by HDBP in -dodecane (30% by volume). During extraction, the splitting of the organic phase into a heavy phase and a light phase was observed.
