Thrombectomy for Anterior Circulation Stroke with a Hybrid Cell Design Stent Retriever: A Multicenter Registry.

Objective: Thrombectomy is the standard recanalization treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) due to large vessel occlusions (LVO). However, thrombectomy was validated using a few brands of devices. New types of thrombectomy devices have been developed, and assessing their safety and efficacy is essential.

A Methodological Approach to Measuring the Impact of TAK-003 for the Prevention of Dengue in Dourados, Brazil: Optimizing Strategies for Public Health.

: Takeda's tetravalent dengue vaccine TAK-003 has been approved by the Brazilian regulatory agency ANVISA for dengue disease prevention in individuals aged 4 to 60 years. Dourados, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, became the world's first city to implement a mass vaccination campaign targeting approximately 120,000 individuals. An ongoing collaborative, observational, population-based study using national surveillance and vaccination data was planned to measure the impact of the vaccine on the reduction in dengue incidence.

High prevalence of intracranial arterial stenosis among acute ischemic stroke patients in a Brazilian center: a transcranial color-coded duplex sonography study.

Background:  There is limited data available regarding the prevalence of intracranial arterial stenosis (ICAS) among acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients in Brazil and Latin America.

Objective:  The present study sought to investigate the frequency and predictors of ICAS among patients with AIS or transient ischemic attack (TIA) in a Brazilian center, with transcranial color-coded duplex sonography (TCCS) technique.

Methods:  Consecutive AIS and TIA patients, admitted to an academic public comprehensive stroke center in Brazil from February to December 2014, evaluated by TCCS were prospectively selected.

Ease and practicability of the 2017 classification of periodontal diseases and conditions: a study of dental electronic health records.

Background: A new classification for Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases and Conditions was introduced in the 2017 World Workshop. In the past the 1999 Armitage Classification was commonly used in practice. This study aimed to assess the ease and practicability of retroactively diagnosing a subset of patients formerly diagnosed using the 1999 AAP/CDC classification with the 2017 AAP/EFP disease classification.

Scalp arteriovenous malformations - 20 years of experience in a tertiary healthcare centre.

Background: Scalp arteriovenous malformations (SAVM) are extremely uncommon vascular malformations, with only ~200 cases published in the English language in the past years. The objective of the present study was to describe the experience of a single reference service in neurosurgery.

Methods: This is a descriptive and retrospective study conducted at our institution, which included cases of SAVM treated between 2001 and 2022.
