This complexity creates challenges for stakeholders who wish to use financial accounting statements to make inferences about the productive choices made by a hospital's management. Background: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a common indication for antibiotic prescriptions in the outpatient setting. With rising antimicrobial resistance, eliminating unnecessary antibiotics is critical.
