Effect of Rhizobacteria Inoculation via Soil and Seeds on L. Plants Grown on Soils with Different Cropping History.

Field experiments testing the effect of phosphate-solubilizing rhizobacteria (PSRB) should consider the cropping history and the method used to inoculate the strains. We evaluated the hypothesis that PSRB previously isolated from soybean seedlings could be effective in promoting growth in this oilseed crop in soils with different cultivation periods. We also evaluated whether this growth promotion could be influenced by cultivation histories or the inoculation method (via seeds or soil).

Predictive value of hypoxia in advanced head and neck cancer after treatment with hyperfractionated radio-chemotherapy and hypoxia modification.

Purpose: Hypoxia has predictive value in head and neck cancer (HNC). It has been well described, albeit in a small number of clinical Centres. The aim of this study was to describe our experience using the polarographic probe technique to assess the predictive value of tumour oxygenation in patients with advanced HNC treated with hyperfractionated radio-chemotherapy.

Evaluation of information retention and adherence to treatment in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus after multidisciplinary group.

Objective: To evaluate the retention of information after participation in multidisciplinary group in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) through a phone contact.

Method: 122 pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes were included. After diagnosis of gestational diabetes, the patients were referred to the multidisciplinary group where they received medical, nutrition and nursing guidelines related to the disease.

Ozone Therapy in the Management of Persistent Radiation-Induced Rectal Bleeding in Prostate Cancer Patients.

Introduction. Persistent radiation-induced proctitis and rectal bleeding are debilitating complications with limited therapeutic options. We present our experience with ozone therapy in the management of such refractory rectal bleeding.

Long-term control of refractory hemorrhagic radiation proctitis with ozone therapy.

Context: Persistent or severe hemorrhagic radiation proctitis (HRP) has limited therapeutic options.

Objectives: To describe our experience with ozone therapy (O3T) in the management of refractory HRP.

Methods: Patients (n=17; median age 69 years [range 42-80 years]) previously irradiated for prostate or uterine cancer and suffering persistent or severe HRP without response to conventional treatment were enrolled to receive an O3/O2 gas mixture via rectal insufflations and topical application of ozonized oil.
