PURPOSE OF THE STUDY Rhizarthrosis, a degenerative condition of the carpometacarpal joint of the thumb, affects mainly women. Surgical treatment is indicated once the non-operative treatment fails. Thumb carpometacarpal joint total arthroplasty constitutes one of the surgical treatment options.
