Computational Fluid Dynamic Modeling and Simulation of Hydrocracking of Vacuum Gas Oil in a Fixed-Bed Reactor.

A four-lump computational fluid dynamic (CFD) model was proposed for the investigation of vacuum gas oil hydrocracking in a trickle-bed reactor. The experiment was conducted at 360-390 °C and 146 bar in the reactor at three different flow rates. It was found that the modeling predictions of vacuum gas oil cracking agreed well with the experimental measurements.

Regenerative Capacities of Chitosan-Nanoselenium Conduit on Transected Sciatic Nerve in Diabetic Rats: An Animal Model Study.

Objective: To assess regenerative capacities of chitosan-nanoselenium conduit on transected sciatic nerve in diabetic rats.

Methods: A 10-mm sciatic nerve defect was bridged using a chitosan-nanoselenium conduit filled with phosphate buffered saline. In chitosan group, the chitosan conduit was filled with phosphate buffered saline solution.

Bone healing is still a great challenge in orthopedic surgery and clinical practice. There is a dearth of research investigating the effect of Zeolite/Collagen (ZC) nanocomposite on bone regeneration. In the present study, a critical segmental defect of the rabbit femur was repaired using defects in femurs repaired by ZC nanocomposite, and the effects were examined histologically.
