CD47 is a ubiquitous and pleiotropic cell-surface receptor. Disrupting CD47 enhances injury repair in various tissues but the role of CD47 has not been studied in bone injuries. In a murine closed-fracture model, CD47-null mice showed decreased callus bone formation as assessed by microcomputed tomography 10 days post-fracture and increased fibrous volume as determined by histology.

The device can communicate through Bluetooth with a simple Android app to update the operational settings to facilitate field experiments, including which LEDs to operate, when to operate (always, night only, or predefined intervals after sunset and/or before sunrise), and to change the LED intensities/modulation during operation. We used the devices to evaluate different wavelengths to improve catches in traps for coconut rhinoceros beetle (CRB; Linnaeus) in the field, as well as to evaluate lighting preferences of Asian citrus psyllid (ACP; Kuwayama).

This article explores the pedagogical considerations of using pop-culture podcasts as an instructional strategy in leadership development. We clarify key concepts, evaluate podcasts as an instructional tool, and provide recommendations and implications for their integration into leadership learning experiences. While an important consideration for educators, more research is needed about the efficacy of this instructional strategy.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of a lower treatment threshold (≥130/80 mm Hg) for initiating and titrating antihypertensive medication on reducing emergency department visits in postpartum patients with hypertension.
Methods: A prospective cohort of postpartum patients was recruited in a multicenter study between March 2023 and March 2024 and treated to maintain blood pressure <130/80 mm Hg using remote blood pressure monitoring.
Here, we present a one-step approach to append N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) to gold nanorods. The nanorods are treated with NHC gold or silver complexes in a mixture of water and dichloromethane. Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy and mass spectrometry characterization reveals that this procedure results in a ligand transfer yielding chemisorbed NHCs.
