Numerous anatomical variants are described around the knee, many of which look like bony lesions, so it is important to know them to avoid unnecessary complementary tests and inadequate management. Likewise, several alterations in relation to normal development can also simulate bone lesions. However, numerous pathologic processes frequently affect the knee, including traumatic, inflammatory, infectious, and tumor pathology.

Background: Biofungicides arise as a promising alternative to the indiscriminate use of harmful synthetic fungicides in crop management.

Results: The present study reports the bio-guided fractionation of an endemic plant from the Canary Islands, Salvia canariensis against the phytopathogens, Alternaria alternata, Botrytis cinerea, and Fusarium oxysporum. This procedure allowed identifying a series of diterpenoids with an abietane skeleton (1-5), which exhibited remarkable activity against the phytopathogenic fungi assayed.

The Sunrise chromospheric infrared spectropolarimeter (SCIP) installed in the international balloon experiment sunrise iii will perform spectropolarimetric observations in the near-infrared band to measure solar photospheric and chromospheric magnetic fields simultaneously. The main components of SCIP for polarization measurements are a rotating wave plate, polarization beam splitters, and CMOS imaging sensors. In each of the sensors, SCIP records the orthogonal linearly polarized components of light.

Summary: The microarrays performed by scientific teams grow exponentially. These microarray data could be useful for researchers around the world, but unfortunately they are underused. To fully exploit these data, it is necessary (i) to extract these data from a repository of the high-throughput gene expression data like Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and (ii) to make the data from different microarrays comparable with tools easy to use for scientists.
