The development of adenocarcinoma or carcinoid tumors in atrophic gastritis is widely documented. We report the simultaneous occurrence of gastric adenocarcinoma and carcinoid (composite tumor) in atrophic gastritis, a finding reported only twice before in the literature. This 52-yr-old man with rectal bleeding, epigastric pain, and iron deficiency anemia was noted to have multiple polypoid masses on upper endoscopy.

A 65-year-old man with sclerosing mesenteritis developed the nephrotic syndrome. Percutaneous renal biopsy revealed classical histologic findings of minimal change nephropathy with a mild interstitial nephritis. Immunomodulation with prednisone led to a rapid and complete remission of the proteinuria but did not alter the course of the underlying sclerosing mesenteritis.

Crohn's disease and neutropenia unrelated to drug therapy is a rare association. We present a case of Crohn's disease associated with cyclic neutropenia. Our patient, observed over 10 yr, is unique due to the lack of recurrent bacterial infections or other associated sequelae of the neutropenic state.

We have studied the effect of ursodeoxycholic acid on the serum and urinary bile acids in seven patients with moderate to severe primary biliary cirrhosis.
