The fluorescent imaging of pathologically accumulated β-amyloid (Aβ) proteins is of significant importance to the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). In the paper, we prepared two new NIR probes, NIR-1 and NIR-2, through hydrophilic modification of introducing water-soluble bioactive groups such as polyethylene glycol (PEG) and morpholine to tune in vivo pharmacokinetics for specific detection of soluble and insoluble Aβ species. The in vitro assessments confirm that both NIR-1 and NIR-2 display strong near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence (FL) enhancement upon association with Aβ42 monomers, oligomers or aggregates (λem > 670 nm) and show high sensitive, rapid and selective response towards Aβ42 species.

Total glucosides of paeony (TGP) are a group of monoterpenes extracted from , primarily including metabolites such as paeoniflorin and oxypaeoniflorin. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that TGP possesses a variety of biological effects, including immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective, antidepressant, and cell proliferation regulatory activities. In recent years, clinical research has demonstrated favorable therapeutic effects of TGP on disorders of the liver, cardiovascular, nervous, endocrine, and skeletal systems.

Background: Chemoresistance is a major cause of treatment failure in advanced colorectal cancer (CRC), severely impacting patient survival and quality of life. While conventional chemotherapy regimens can somewhat control tumor progression, their effectiveness is frequently compromised by the development of drug resistance in cancer cells. The aim of this study is to verify and elucidate the specific mechanisms by which leptin enhances chemosensitivity in CRC, providing valuable insights for the development of new combination chemotherapy options.

Chlorophenols are difficult to degrade and mineralize by traditional advanced oxidation processes due to the strong electronegativity of chlorine. Photocatalytic degradation of the azo dye orange II using NdVO/VO/BiVO under visible light is reported here, and this oxygen-rich defect three-phase heterojunction structure is constructed using a two-step cation exchange method. This heterojunction significantly enhances the separation and migration efficiency of photo-induced charges, while the accompanying oxygen defects effectively capture photogenerated electrons, thereby suppressing the recombination of electrons and holes. Experimental characterization and theoretical calculations demonstrate the efficient separation and transfer capabilities of photogenerated carriers and their excellent photocatalytic degradation performance.
