[Retroperitoneal cystic lymphangioma].

The rare case of a cystic lymphangioma is described in an elderly patient. Most of these tumors occur in patients under the age of five. The intraabdominal localisation is also rare, here the common localisation is the mesentery and in only 5% the retroperitoneum.

[Antipyrine clearance as a measure of drug metabolism in patients with diabetes mellitus].

Antipyrine-clearance calculated from a single 24 hrs blood sample following i. v. injection of 1 g was determined in insulin dependent diabetics (n = 20), patients with liver cirrhosis (n = 8), with fatty liver + hepatitis (n = 5) and alcoholics with normal liver morphology (n = 3).

[New developments in insulin therapy of diabetic coma (author's transl)].

The experiences of English teams with continuous intravenous infusion of small doses of insulin (6-10 IU/h) for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis are reported. This form of therapy is based on recent knowledge of the physiological degree of the serum insulin level (20-200 muU/ml) and the quantity required to saturate the insulin receptors. The advantages of this treatment are in the low therapeutic risk: hypopotassemia, hypoglycemia and cerebral edema, which are disadvantages of conventional therapy of diabetic coma, are avoided.
