Automated closed-loop (CL) insulin therapy has come of age. This major technological advance is expected to significantly improve the quality of care for adults, adolescents and children with type 1 diabetes. Objectives: To describe Self-Monitoring of Blood Glucose (SMBG) practices in France in patients with type 1 (T1DM) or type 2 (T2DM) diabetes, by estimating the proportion of patients performing SMBG at the recommended testing frequency and the proportion of patients complying with the current quality control guidelines on SMBG. Materials and methods: National cross-sectional study conducted in 238 pharmacies. A questionnaire was completed with adult diabetic patients buying SMBG devices or reagent strips for themselves, using a blood glucose meter for at least 6 months, treated with insulin or sulfonylurea/glinides ± other oral hypoglycaemic agents (HA).

Uterine fibroids are the most common type of benign gynecologic mass, and are present in up to 80 percent of women. Research exploring risk factors for fibroids presents conflicting or inconclusive findings. Symptoms for up to 50 percent of women experiencing fibroids include heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pressure or pain and gastrointestinal and genitourinary changes.

Conventional self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) presents a certain number of limits. In particular, it cannot provide information on events occurring some time before the self-monitoring.
