Since the discovery of the long-range superconducting proximity effect, the interaction between spin-triplet Cooper pairs and magnetic structures such as domain walls and vortices has been the subject of intense theoretical discussions, while the relevant experiments remain scarce. We have developed nanostructured Josephson junctions with highly controllable spin texture, based on a disk-shaped Nb/Co bilayer. Here, the vortex magnetization of Co and the Cooper pairs of Nb conspire to induce long-range triplet (LRT) superconductivity in the ferromagnet.

Methods: Twenty-four patients with FUO, defined as illness of more than three weeks with fever greater than 38.3 °C, underwent wb-MRI at a 1.

Purpose: To compare rigid rectoscopy with three different MRI measurement techniques for rectal cancer height determination, all starting at the anal verge, in order to evaluate whether MRI measurements starting from the anal verge could be an alternative to rigid rectoscopy. Moreover, potential cut-off values for MRI in categorizing tumor height measurements were evaluated.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 106 patients (75 men, 31 female, mean age 64 ± 11.
Background/aim: Exctracapsular extension (ECE) in prostate cancer has a high impact on treatment decision. MRI might predict presence of ECE non-invasively.
Patients And Methods: Triplanar T2w-sequences, DWI (diffusion weighted imaging) and DCE (dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging) of 34 patients with PCa were analyzed to prior prostatectomy.
Background: Giant diverticula are rare complications of diverticular disease. Current opinion regards operative therapy as the method of choice for the treatment of symptomatic giant diverticula; however, there is neither consensus about the technique nor about the necessary extent of resection. Based on a non-systematic review of the literature, an overview of giant diverticula in terms of epidemiology, pathology and classification is given.
