Neutrophilic Dermatosis of Hands as Oncological Finding: Importance of Follow-Up.

Neutrophilic febrile dermatosis (NFD) is a rare paraneoplastic syndrome that may be found in patients with head and neck cancer. NFD may appear before the neoplasia and may only concern the dorsal faces of the hands. This article reports the NFD findings of a patient with pharyngeal cancer, which was developed 2 years after the occurrence of NFD.

An Atypical Case of Vasculitis: When 'Occult' 18FDG-PET Scan Findings Create a Classification Dilemma.

Unlabelled: We describe a 66-year old patient with a recurrent ulcer on her right ankle. Biopsy revealed medium-vessel vasculitis consistent with cutaneous polyarteritis nodosa. There were no signs or symptoms suggestive of systemic vasculitis, but a 18FDG-PET scan showed areas of increased uptake around the large arteries and the pelvic and shoulder girdles.

Oral ulceration: an unusual manifestation of Churg-Strauss syndrome.

Churg-Strauss Syndrome (CSS) is a relatively rare entity characterized by asthma, transient pulmonary infiltrates, eosinophilia and systemic vasculitis. Oral ulceration is a possible clinical manifestation of some systemic vasculitides, such as Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) or giant cell arteritis, but has never been reported with Churg-Strauss syndrome. We report the first observation of a palatine ulceration in a 15-year-old girl with Churg-Strauss syndrome.
