International survey of bimodal hearing and bilateral cochlear implant service provision for adults.

Objectives: As cochlear implant (CI) criteria widen, more candidates with usable residual hearing are being considered for a CI. Unlike children, adults mostly receive only one implant. The aim of this survey was to determine bimodal-hearing and bilateral CI service provision for adults around the world.

Expanding Hepatitis C Virus Treatment in the New Mexico State Prison System: Using the ECHO Model for Provider and Prison Peer Education.

It is critical to address hepatitis C virus (HCV) in carceral settings to achieve worldwide elimination of the virus. We describe New Mexico's (NM) experience expanding HCV treatment in state prisons, supplemented with Project ECHO (ECHO; virtual mentorship through guided practice) and the NM Peer Education Program (NMPEP). We describe how using these programs may be a model for expanding treatment in prisons globally.

Reimbursing incarcerated individuals for participation in research: A scoping review.

Background: Little is known about global practices regarding the provision of reimbursement for the participation of people who are incarcerated in research. To determine current practices related to the reimbursement of incarcerated populations for research, we aimed to describe international variations in practice across countries and carceral environments to help inform the development of more consistent and equitable practices.

Methods: We conducted a scoping review by searching PubMed, Cochrane library, Medline, and Embase, and conducted a grey literature search for English- and French-language articles published until September 30, 2022.

A sensitive method to determine Po and Pb in environmental samples by alpha spectrometry using CuS micro-precipitation.

A new sensitive method to determine polonium-210 (Po) and lead-210 (Pb) in a diversity of environmental samples was developed. For fresh and marine waters, Po was pre-concentrated using a titanium (III) hydroxide (Ti(OH)) co-precipitation. Solid environmental samples were digested with nitric acid (HNO) and hydrogen peroxide (HO).

The audiological rehabilitation of workers with hearing loss in the UK: a qualitative study of workers' perspectives.

Purpose: Unaddressed hearing loss can adversely affect employment and day-to-day work-life. Efficient and effective audiology support can help optimise hearing in the workplace. This study explores the audiological rehabilitation experiences of workers with hearing loss (WHL).
