[X-ray evaluation of renal function in children with hydronephrosis as a criterion in the selection of therapeutic tactics].

The anatomic parameters of the kidneys and the rate of glomerular filtration were measured in 77 children with unilateral hydronephrosis and in 27 children with nonobstructive diseases of the urinary tract according to the clearance of an opaque medium during excretory urography. Alterations in the anatomic parameters of the kidneys in obstructive affection did not reflect the gravity of functional disorders. It has been established that there is a possibility of carrying out a separate assessment of filtration function of the hydronephrotic and contralateral kidneys.
