As the aging population continues to grow, the incidence of osteoporotic fractures increases and is compounded by our lack of therapeutic strategies that increase bone formation. Although exercise and physical activity play a key role in maintaining bone mass throughout our lives, the loads and exertion required to elicit an anabolic response becomes exceedingly difficult to achieve with age. Based on previous work, the P2Y receptor offers a unique therapeutic target to increasing bone mass by modifying the mechanotransduction.

Racial inequities in postpartum weight have been documented with limited studies on the influences of racism and other forms of discrimination. In a prospective longitudinal study applying ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and ambulatory assessment of weight, we measured the association between discrimination, stress and postpartum weight change. The Postpartum Mothers Mobile Study (PMOMS) is a cohort of 313 pregnant and birthing individuals who were followed during their second and third trimester through 1 year postpartum.

Most x-ray sources are inherently polychromatic. Polychromatic ("pink") x-rays provide an efficient way to conduct diffraction experiments as many more photons can be used and large regions of reciprocal space can be probed without sample rotation during exposure-ideal conditions for time-resolved applications. Analysis of such data is complicated, however, causing most x-ray facilities to discard >99% of x-ray photons to obtain monochromatic data.
