The highly nuanced transition from an inflammatory process to tumorigenesis is of great scientific interest. While it is well known that environmental stimuli can cause inflammation, less is known about the oncogenic modifications that chronic inflammation in the tissue microenvironment can bring about, as well as how these modifications can set off pro-tumorigenic processes. It is clear that no matter where the environmental factors come from, maintaining an inflammatory microenvironment encourages carcinogenesis.

A young man in his 30s presented to us with multiple episodes of syncope and exertional dyspnoea for the last 2 weeks. He was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the lower one-third of the oesophagus in 2021 for which he was treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, followed by McKeown oesophagectomy. At 2-year follow-up, he had developed a soft tissue swelling in the scalp, which was diagnosed as a tumour recurrence and radiotherapy was initiated.

Unlabelled: Potato peels are one of the most under-utilized wastes which can be highly beneficial to mankind. The red potato peel powder was prepared by using tray drying and vacuum-oven drying method. The proximate analysis of red potato peel powder was conducted followed by its characterization which includes FT-IR, XRD, TGA, DSC, and SEM.

It is available in English, and Indian Hindi-speaking people who are not proficient in English may face difficulties in responding to it.
