We wanted to present a rare case of metastatic grade 2 spinal ependymoma with an atypical course at the time of diagnosis. Temozolomide plus capecitabine chemotherapy was started in May 2018 on a 30-year-old female patient with sacral ependymoma who had extensive lung metastases at the time of diagnosis. The patient remained in remission for approximately 29 months, and the current chemotherapy was continued until it progressed in November 2020.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examines the role of Her2 status in early stage triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy, revealing conflicting results regarding its prognostic impact.
  • A total of 620 female TNBC patients were analyzed, with 68.9% having Her2-0 and 31.1% having Her2-low status; the rates of pathological complete response (pCR) were similar between these groups.
  • While the Her2-0 group showed better disease-free survival (DFS), the overall survival (OS) rates were similar between the two groups, indicating the need for further research into the implications of Her2 status in this treatment context.

Endocrine therapy (ET) plus cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4/6 inhibitors is a standard treatment for hormone receptor (HR) positive HER-2-negative metastatic breast cancer patients. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of body mass index (BMI) on progression-free survival (PFS) in patients receiving ET plus CDK 4/6 inhibitors. Patients with metastatic HR-positive breast cancer receiving CDK 4/6 inhibitors were included in the study.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the timing of COVID-19 booster doses and antibody response in healthcare workers over a period from March to December 2021.
  • Antibody levels were significantly different across four measurements, showing a decline over time for both BNT162b2 and CoronaVac vaccines, especially impacted by the number of doses and the interval between vaccinations.
  • The findings suggest that longer intervals between booster doses potentially lead to higher and more sustained antibody levels, enhancing protection for healthcare workers.

We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab emtansine in patients with metastatic breast cancer previously treated with pertuzumab plus trastuzumab and taxane. We reviewed the medical records of patients who were diagnosed with Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER-2) positive metastatic breast cancer and received pertuzumab and then TDM-1 between January 2014 and January 2021 from twenty- five cancer centers. The Kaplan- Meier method estimated progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).
