Pressure dependence of spectral positions of the E → A and T → A bands of Cr ions, resulting from changes in Cr-O covalency and variations in crystal field strength, respectively, is commonly utilized in luminescence manometry. However, as demonstrated in this paper, the luminescence of Cr-Cr pairs shows insensitivity to pressure changes, making this signal suitable as a luminescence reference. The significant difference in the thermal and pressure dependences of luminescence with Cr occupying different crystallographic positions in CaAlO:Cr enables the development of a dual-function luminescence thermometer that operates in both ratiometric and lifetime-based readout modes.

Dynamic changes in the pectin, xyloglucan, xylan, and cellulose polysaccharide epitope content during fiber growth contribute to complex remodeling of fiber cell wall (CW) and quality. Detailed knowledge about polysaccharide compositional and structural alteration in the fiber during fiber elongation and strengthening is important to understand the molecular dynamics of fiber development and improve its quality.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIn the context of the legacy of deficit-focused research and application of theoretical models in research on minoritized groups that are underrepresented in the literature, we explored the strengths-based literature among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people of color to develop a more inclusive and relevant understanding of how posttraumatic growth (PTG) occurs in this population. Our intersectional PTG model is tailored to the experiences of LGBTQ+ people of color that builds upon previous models of PTG, intersectionality theory, and empirical findings of trauma and PTG among LGBTQ+ people of color. Our intersectional PTG model incorporates the unique intrapersonal, interpersonal, institutional, and cultural factors that are unique to this population and contribute to PTG.

Graphene flakes were obtained via an electrochemical method and integrated into polyamide 6 (PA6) matrices using melt intercalation. Various characterization techniques confirmed the quality of the graphene flakes, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, and infrared (IR) spectroscopy, as well as scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) imaging.
