Managing Uncertainty and Loneliness: Protective and Risk Factors Impacting on Older People's Mental Health in Hong Kong.

This study investigated the roles of loneliness and prospective intolerance of uncertainty (IU-P) on mental health, and identified the sources of stress and joy during the COVID-19 in Hong Kong. Two thousand two hundred and fifty-eight older adults completed the survey. Older adults who had higher levels of loneliness and IU-P were more likely to have poor mental health.

Evaluation of Permanent Nipple-Areolar Complex Sensitivity Loss Following Reduction Mammaplasty.

Background: Predictors for permanent nipple-areolar complex (NAC) insensitivity after reduction mammaplasty are sparsely defined.

Objectives: We analyzed factors associated with NAC insensitivity over long-term follow-up.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of reduction mammaplasties on 1598 breasts performed by 4 surgeons from March 2015 to February 2023 was conducted.

Purpose: The Area Deprivation Index (ADI) is a validated quantifiable measure of neighborhood disadvantage and social determinants of health (SDoH). Higher percentiles in ADI correlate with the most disadvantaged neighborhoods: lower income, lower education, and less access to transportation. Using ADI, we aimed to investigate the impact of SDoH on bilateral breast reduction (BBR) complication rates.

Recognizing this, a program in alignment with the Team Primary Care national initiative was developed to enhance their skills and knowledge in collaborative care, aiming to cultivate advanced primary care pharmacist leaders. The curriculum development involved aligning activities with pharmacist roles and competencies, emphasizing interprofessional teamwork.
