Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials are at the forefront of potential technological advancements. Carbon-based materials have been extensively studied since synthesizing graphene, which revealed properties of great interest for novel applications across diverse scientific and technological domains. New carbon allotropes continue to be explored theoretically, with several successful synthesis processes for carbon-based materials recently achieved.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional study including subjects undertaking hemodialysis for at least 3 months. Handheld dynamometer measurements of hip and ankle muscle strength (N) were registered on 4 different occasions, 2 trials by raters A and 2 by raters B, to evaluate the intra and inter-rater reliability.
: Aging is associated with structural and functional changes in the heart, including hypertrophy, fibrosis, and impaired contractility. Cellular mechanisms such as senescence, telomere shortening, and DNA damage contribute to these processes. Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) has been implicated in mediating cellular responses in aging tissues, and increased NF-κB expression has been observed in the hearts of aging rodents.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to review the most effective topical anesthetic methods for reducing pain/discomfort prior to dental local anesthetic needle puncture for dental procedures in children and adolescents.
Methods: A scoping review was conducted. Individual search strategies were developed for each of the bibliographic databases (Cochrane, Embase, LILACS, LIVIVO, Pubmed, Scopus, PsyINFO, Web of Science), and in the gray literature (Google Scholar, Open Gray), comprehensively, without restrictions on language, publication data, or level of socioeconomic development of the country in which the study was conducted.
