Carcinoids are malignant neuroendocrine neoplasms showing good long-term survival after oncologic therapy. The study evaluated the influence of operative strategies and individual decision-making on the outcome and long-term survival in 222 patients with bronchial carcinoids. The patients underwent preoperative pulmonary function tests and bronchoscopy to facilitate surgical decision-making.

The increased application of in vitro systems in pharmacology and toxicology requires cell culture systems that facilitate the cultivation process and ensure stable, reproducible and controllable cultivation conditions.
