Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare, aggressive variant of extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Although gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging remains the initial imaging modality of choice, a whole-body F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography-computed tomography is imperative to exclude systemic lymphomatous involvement. Furthermore, the metabolic parameter, maximum standardized uptake value (SUV) of the lesion, tumor-to-normal cerebral tissue SUV ratio, and FDG uptake patterns help in differentiating intracranial lymphomas from High-grade Glioblastoma Multiforme (HGM) and infectious lesions, and hence, consolidating the diagnosis.

Synthesis and identification of new sacubitril derivatives as lead compounds for antibacterial, antifungal and antitubercular (TB) activities against dormant tuberculosis.

We identified twenty-two new sacubitril derivatives (5a-v) as lead compounds for various biologically active targets. These compounds were synthesized by reacting an intermediate compound (2,4)-5-([1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl)-4-(amino)-2-methylpentanoic acid ethyl ester hydrochloride with respective carboxylic acid (RCOOH). The molecular structures of all the newly synthesized compounds were determined by H and C NMR, ESI mass spectrometry, FTIR spectroscopy, and CHN analysis.

Genetic diversity and risk factor analysis of drug-resistant Escherichia coli recovered from broiler chicken farms.

A total of 38 Escherichia coli isolates were recovered from 120 samples collected from various sources of broiler chicken farms (n = 10 each) in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. Though the recovered E. coli isolates were found variably resistant to the tested antibiotics, all the tested isolates were susceptible to meropenem.
