Research suggests spirituality is linked to positive health outcomes, but social workers report barriers to incorporating it into care planning. The literature suggests general interest in learning and executing social work practice involving religion/spirituality (R/S) intentionally. While some empirical study has been conducted, this work is largely superficial and undeveloped.

Background: People experiencing homelessness (PEH) with opioid use disorder (OUD) are at high risk of overdose yet less likely to enroll and stay engaged in standard-of-care treatment for OUD, opioid agonist medication for OUD (MOUD), particularly methadone treatment. Engaging this group in treatment is a public health priority, yet little is known about the experiences of PEH enrolled in MOUD. We sought to understand the housing experiences and perspectives of PEH engaged in methadone treatment using mixed quantitative and qualitative methods.

Direct impact of climate change on groundwater levels in the Iberian Peninsula.

The Iberian Peninsula is a water-scarce region that is increasingly reliant on groundwater. Climate change is expected to exacerbate this situation due to projected irregular precipitation patterns and frequent droughts. Here, we utilised convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to assess the direct effect of climate change on groundwater levels, using monthly meteorological data and historical groundwater levels from 3829 wells.

Associations Among Sleep, Pain, and Medications for Opioid Use Disorder: a Scoping Review.

Purpose Of Review: We present current evidence on the associations among sleep, pain, and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) among individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD).

Recent Findings: We searched MEDLINE, Embase, PsycInfo, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library from inception until September 2023 for original research studies examining sleep, pain, and MOUD. We identified 19 manuscripts (14 were cross-sectional studies, four were prospective cohort studies, and one was a randomized controlled trial).
