The Repeatability and Agreement of Ocular Parameters Measured with the MYAH and Myopia Master Devices between Expert and Non-Expert Practitioners.

In myopia control, it is essential to measure the axial length (AL) and corneal parameters, and to monitor whether changes in these parameters have occurred over time. The aim of this study was to analyse the repeatability and agreement between expert and non-expert practitioners in ocular parameters measured by the MYAH and Myopia Master. Three repeated measurements ( = 42) were recorded with the MYAH and Myopia Master by two (an expert and a non-expert) observers in a randomized order.

The Attitude of Portuguese Physical Education Teachers toward Physical Fitness.

In this study, we aimed to examine how Portuguese physical education teachers perceive the development of physical fitness through fitness tests in schools. The participants were 764 Portuguese teachers teaching at middle-school and high-school levels. The Physical Education Teacher Attitudes Toward Fitness Tests Scale (PETAFTS) was used to collect the data.

Immunological mechanisms involved in the human response to a dog dander allergoid.

Background: Dog allergens are a common cause of allergic sensitisation and trigger respiratory symptoms worldwide. However, clinical evidence regarding dog immunotherapy is limited. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyse the immunomodulatory properties of a new allergoid from dog dander, thereby deepening the understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved in the reestablishment of the tolerogenic response.

One cannot rule them all: Are bacterial toxins-antitoxins druggable?

Type II (proteic) toxin-antitoxin (TA) operons are widely spread in bacteria and archaea. They are organized as operons in which, usually, the antitoxin gene precedes the cognate toxin gene. The antitoxin generally acts as a transcriptional self-repressor, whereas the toxin acts as a co-repressor, both proteins constituting a harmless complex.
