Tranquilization of horses with acepromazine has been used to suppress erratic head movements and increase the accuracy of a lameness examination. Some equine clinicians believe that tranquilization with acepromazine will make lameness more evident by causing the horse to focus on adjusting its gait to avoid limb pain rather than its surroundings. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of acepromazine on the Lyapunov exponents of lame horses.

This article focuses on the analysis of gait parameters, ground reaction forces (GRF), and motion signals, for the various asymmetric loads carried by healthy human subjects during walking. Eight asymptomatic human volunteers were enrolled in this study. They were asked to walk, at self-selected pace, with various weights ranging from 0 to 11.

In this study, the experimental and the simulation results for a planar free link impacting a granular medium are analyzed. The resistance force of the granular medium on the body from the moment of the impact until the body stops is very important. Horizontal and vertical static resistance forces developed by theoretical and empirical approaches are considered.

The "clam shell" configuration resulted in less pressure being applied to all palmar pad surfaces. For the major weight-bearing pad, a basic paw bandage with an intermediate compressible foam sponge that had a hole under the major weight-bearing pad, combined with a metal splint paw cup under the sponge, resulted in a significantly lower pressure recording than for other bandage configurations.

Time series data such as joint trajectories can be decomposed by the discrete wavelet transform to represent components of different frequency bandwidth. Differences between two similar trajectories can be detected by comparing the components of the same bandwidth.
