Recent research has sparked a discussion on the spectrum of diseases linked to the gene associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and distal myopathy with vocal cord and pharyngeal weakness (VCPDM). To date, fewer than 50 cases of VCPDM have been reported in the literature. We aim to build upon the work of previous researchers by gathering additional information about VCPDM.

[Drug therapy's new options in the treatment of the severe irritable bowel syndrome].

Background: Stress, individual characteristics of each patient, visceral hypersensitivity and intestinal motility have the key importance in the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In recent years, there has been growing interest in the use of selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) in the complex therapy of IBS patients with somatoform disorders.

Aim: To examine the effectiveness of the SNRIs antidepressant therapy in the treatment of patients with IBS and diarrhea (IBS-D) with extraintestinal manifestations.

Background: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a biopsychosocial model based on the malfunction of "brain-intestinal linking".

Aim: To improve diagnostics of the severe IBS accompanied with somatoform disorders by using balloon dilatation test (BDT) and optimize the therapy by using antidepressants from the serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor type.

Materials And Methods: 61 patients with severe IBS and diarrhea were examined, among them 29 female with a median age of 31 years old (24; 36), and 31 male with a median age of 31 (24; 36) years old.

A Unique Observation of a Patient with Vulto-van Silfhout-de Vries Syndrome.

Introduction: Vulto-van Silfhout-de Vries Syndrome (VSVS; OMIM#615828) is a rare hereditary disease associated with impaired intellectual development and speech, delayed psychomotor development, and behavioral anomalies, including autistic behavioral traits and poor eye contact. To date, 27 patients with VSVS have been reported in the literature. Materials and Methods: We describe a 23-year-old male patient with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who was admitted to the gastroenterological hospital with signs of pseudomembranous colitis.

Objective: To study the effectiveness and safety of the sleep normalization medical device SONYA in the treatment of insomnia.

Material And Methods: The effectiveness and safety of the SONYA device was studied in 32 subjects randomized into two groups - those who received stimulation using this device and those who received false stimulation (placebo). The indicators of subjective sleep characteristics, polysomnography, and emotional state were evaluated.
