Nucleotide sequence can be translated in three reading frames from 5' to 3' producing distinct protein products. Many examples of RNA translation in two reading frames (dual coding) have been identified so far. We report simultaneous translation of mRNA transcripts derived from locus in all three reading frames that result in the synthesis of long proteins.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure (HF) often accompany each other, as they share similar risk factors and pathophysiological mechanisms. AF in patients with HF is known to increase hospitalizations and worsen prognosis. A combination of AF and HF translates into high risks of thromboembolic complications, which renders anticoagulants an important aspect of therapy for these patients.

Antimicrobial resistance poses a serious threat to global public health. The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the need to monitor the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance genes and understand the mechanisms driving this process. In this study, we analyzed changes to the oropharyngeal and fecal resistomes of patients with COVID-19 undergoing therapy in a hospital setting.

Introduction: Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) usually have a decreased quality of life (QOL). Specialized questionnaires on QOL may be more sensitive when studying individual issues of COPD therapy than general (universal) questionnaires.

Goal: Conducting a review of specific tools for assessing the quality of life of patients with COPD.

This review examines the effects of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) on different heart failure phenotypes with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Traditional heart failure treatment modalities have shown limited success in improving outcomes for patients with HFpEF, but new evidence suggests that GLP-1RAs could be beneficial. The positive effects of GLP-1RAs are likely due to their ability to reduce systemic inflammation, enhance metabolism and directly affect the cardiovascular system, addressing critical aspects of HFpEF pathology.
