Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common tumor in women and represents the leading cause of cancer death. Radiation therapy plays a key-role in the treatment of all breast cancer stages. Therefore, the adoption of evidence-based treatments is warranted, to ensure equity of access and standardization of care in clinical practice.

Immediate Breast Reconstruction after mastectomy with polyurethane implants versus textured implants: A retrospective study with focus on capsular contracture.

Background: Capsular contracture (CC) is the most common complication following Immediate Breast Reconstruction (IBR) with breast implants. Different implant surfaces were developed aiming to reduce the incidence of CC. We evaluated the incidence and degree of CC after Direct-to-Implant (DTI) IBR with insertion of textured (TE) or polyurethane (PU) covered implants.

Cervical cancer response to neoadjuvant therapy: MR imaging assessment.

Purpose: To determine the accuracy of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in evaluating the invasive cervical carcinoma response to concurrent chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Materials And Methods: MR imaging was performed before and after concurrent chemotherapy and radiation therapy in 18 patients with locally invasive cervical carcinoma. Surgery followed neoadjuvant therapy in all patients.
