Purpose Of The Review: The SARS-CoV-2 genome has been sequenced and the data is made available in the public domain. Molecular epidemiological investigators have utilized this information to elucidate the origin, mode of transmission, and contact tracing of SARS-CoV-2. The present review aims to highlight the recent advancements in the molecular epidemiological studies along with updating recent advancements in the molecular (nucleic acid based) diagnostics for COVID-19, the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2.

The aim of this work was to estimate patient's organ absorbed doses from pediatric helical head computed tomography (CT) examinations using the Size-Specific Dose Estimate (SSDE) methodology and to determine organ dose to SSDE conversion coefficients for clinical routine. Patient-specific organ and tissue absorbed doses from 139 Head CT scans performed in pediatric patients from 0 to 15 years old in a Public Hospital in Tunja, Colombia were estimated. The calculations were made through Monte Carlo simulations, based on patient-specific information, dosimetric CT quantities (CTDIvol, DLP) and age-specific computational human phantoms matched to patients on the basis of gender and size.

Background: The travel distance from home to a treatment centre, which may impact the stage at diagnosis, has not been investigated for retinoblastoma, the most common childhood eye cancer. We aimed to investigate the travel burden and its impact on clinical presentation in a large sample of patients with retinoblastoma from Africa and Europe.

Methods: A cross-sectional analysis including 518 treatment-naïve patients with retinoblastoma residing in 40 European countries and 1024 treatment-naïve patients with retinoblastoma residing in 43 African countries.

Power converters are essential for the use of renewable energy resources. For example, a photovoltaic system produces DC energy that is transformed into AC by the voltage source inverter (VSI). This power is used by a motor drive that operates at different speeds, generating variable loads.

Below-ground soil microorganisms can modulate above-ground plant-insect interactions. It still needs to be determined whether this is a direct effect of single species or an indirect effect of shifts in soil microbial community assemblages. Evaluation of the soil microbiome as a whole is critical for understanding multi-trophic interactions, including those mediated by volatiles involving plants, herbivorous insects, predators/parasitoids and microorganisms.
