Tranexamic acid use in rotator cuff repair: A systematic review of perioperative outcomes.

Background: Tranexamic acid (TXA) use has become the gold standard in total joint arthroplasty to limit intraoperative blood loss and transfusion rates. More recently, the indications for TXA have expanded to knee and shoulder arthroscopy with promising early results. However, the effectiveness of TXA during arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (RCR) is unclear.

Correlating Catalyst Growth with Liquid Water Distribution in Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells.

This study investigates the impact of liquid water distribution in a polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) on the spatially heterogeneous platinum (Pt) catalyst degradation. The membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) are aged using accelerated stress tests (ASTs) in varied cathode gas environments (N and air) to instigate Pt catalyst degradation. The study employs high-resolution neutron imaging and synchrotron micro-X-ray diffraction (micro-XRD) to map liquid water distribution and Pt particle size, respectively.

Health Law and Bigotry Distractions.

Bigotry distractions are strategic invocations of racism, transphobia, or negative stigma toward other marginalized groups to shape political discourse. Although the vast majority of Americans agree on large policy issues ranging from reducing air pollution to prosecuting corporate crime, bigotry distractions divert attention from areas of agreement toward divisive identity issues. This article explores how the nefarious targeting of identity groups through bigotry distractions may be the tallest barrier to health reform, and social change more broadly.
