The key locations of freshwater input driving Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) slowdown and their climate responses remain inconclusive. Using a state-of-the-art global climate model, we conduct freshwater hosing experiments to reexamine AMOC sensitivity and its climate impacts. The Irminger basin emerges as the most effective region for additional freshwater fluxes, causing the greatest AMOC weakening.

After the first day of muscle disuse (unloading) mitochondria-derived ROS accumulate in the postural-tonic soleus muscle. It is known that excess of ROS can lead to the accumulation of intramitochondrial calcium and overload of mitochondria with calcium, can negatively affect mitochondrial function and fatigue resistance of soleus muscle. We assumed that the use of mitochondrial ROS scavenger mito-TEMPO will be able to prevent the unloading-induced disruption of mitochondrial functions and will help maintain soleus muscle fatigue resistance.

Synthetic data generation in omics mimics real-world biological data, providing alternatives for training and evaluation of genomic analysis tools, controlling differential expression, and exploring data architecture. We previously developed Precious1GPT, a multimodal transformer trained on transcriptomic and methylation data, along with metadata, for predicting biological age and identifying dual-purpose therapeutic targets potentially implicated in aging and age-associated diseases. In this study, we introduce Precious2GPT, a multimodal architecture that integrates Conditional Diffusion (CDiffusion) and decoder-only Multi-omics Pretrained Transformer (MoPT) models trained on gene expression and DNA methylation data.

Entomopathogenic fungi may interact with insects' symbiotic bacteria during infection. We hypothesized that topical infection with Beauveria bassiana may alter the microbiota of the Colorado potato beetle (CPB) and that these modifications may alter the course of mycoses. We used a model with two concentrations of conidia: (1) high concentration that causes rapid (acute) pathogenesis with fast mortality followed by bacterial decomposition of insects; (2) lower concentration that leads to prolonged pathogenesis ending in conidiation on cadavers.

The significance of automated drug design using virtual generative models has steadily grown in recent years. While deep learning-driven solutions have received growing attention, only a few modern AI-assisted generative chemistry platforms have demonstrated the ability to produce valuable structures. At the same time, virtual fragment-based drug design, which was previously less popular due to the high computational costs, has become more attractive with the development of new chemoinformatic techniques and powerful computing technologies.
