Background: Transfer of the supinator motor branches to the posterior interosseous nerve (SPIN) was first described as a reliable method of restoration of digit extension in cases of paralysis when there is retained function in the 5th and 6th cervical nerve roots with loss of function in the 8th cervical nerve root.
Methods: We performed a retrospective review of all the SPIN transfers that were performed in our unit which included 16 limbs in 14 patients over a 6-year period. The median age was 49 years (range 22-74).
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) more than 14% of the world's food production is lost every year before reaching retail, and another 17% is lost during the retail stage. The use of the expiration date as the main estimator of the life-end of food products creates unjustified food waste. Sensors capable of quantifying the effective food freshness and quality could substantially reduce food waste and enable more effective management of the food chain.

Data on percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for left main coronary artery (LMCA) disease in patients of diverse race/ethnicity are scant. This study aimed to assess the impact of race/ethnicity on clinical outcomes at 12-month follow-up of patients with LMCA disease who underwent PCI with drug-eluting stent implantation. All patients who underwent PCI for LMCA disease between 2010 and 2019 at a tertiary care center were prospectively enrolled.
