Constrictive pericarditis in a patient with inherited factor VII deficiency.

Constrictive pericarditis (CP) is the final stage of a chronic inflammatory process characterized by fibrous thickening and calcification of the pericardium that impairs diastolic filling, reduces cardiac output, and ultimately leads to heart failure. We present a clinical case of CP in a patient with rare inherited bleeding disorder - factor VII deficiency. Heart failure due to CP was suspected based on clinical symptoms, results of ultrasonic and radiological investigations.

[Decalcification of anterior cusp of mitral valve at marked calcification of aortic valve].

Short-term and long-term results of surgical treatment were analyzed in 108 patients with aortic valve disease, complicated significant calcinosis spreading on anterior cusp of mitral valve. Mean age of the patients - 53,5±10,8 years (from 25 to 88 years). All patients underwent aortic valve replacement and decalcification of anterior cusp of mitral valve.

[Results of left atrium surgery performed during corrective surgery of mitral valve disease complicated by atriomegaly].

Short- and long-term results of left atrium's plasty in 144 patients performed during correction of mitral valvular disease complicated with atriomegalia were analyzed. Age of patients ranged 7 to 66 years (33+/-9.3 ys).
