The Scalable Variant Call Representation: Enabling Genetic Analysis Beyond One Million Genomes.

Motivation: The Variant Call Format (VCF) is widely used in genome sequencing but scales poorly. For instance, we estimate a 150,000 genome VCF would occupy 900 TiB, making it costly and complicated to produce, analyze, and store. The issue stems from VCF's requirement to densely represent both reference-genotypes and allele-indexed arrays.

Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious viral disease of cloven-hoofed animals. Together with other diseases highlighted in this special edition of the Scientific and Technical Review, the circulation of FMD virus in different parts of the world has shaped the work of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) over the past hundred years. In 2012, the Global Framework for the Progressive Control of Transboundary Animal Diseases, led by WOAH and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, established a joint FMD working group and a strategy for the control of FMD.

Acute Electrocardiographic Changes Coincident With Dofetilide Overdose and Acute Coronary Syndrome.

A 73-year-old man with atrial fibrillation and coronary disease requiring stenting to the right coronary artery 7 months prior was admitted for observation after taking an extra dofetilide dose. Troponins trended upward, and electrocardiogram demonstrated QT prolongation to 502 ms as well as T-wave inversions. The patient underwent cardiac catheterization, which revealed severe distal left main disease.

O-TO-T Advancement Reconstruction for Partial Glossectomy Defects: A Case Series.

We present O-T advancement reconstruction (OTAR) in lateral tongue defects, describing technique, indications, outcomes, and limitations. 11 patients with lateral tongue defects who underwent OTAR after earlystage cancer removal. Demographics, staging, functional oral intake scale (FOIS), dysphagia outcome severity scale (DOSS), defect size, and complications were included.

Background: Substance use disorders (SUDs) result in individual and societal burden. However, most individuals with SUD receive no treatment. Implementing SUD interventions in primary care could address this population's treatment needs.
