In order to understand the role of leptin in the formation of secondary amenorrhea (SA) during puberty, 78 girls aged from 13 to 17 years with SA and 74 girls of the same age with regular menstrual cycle have been examined with the estimation of body mass index (BMI) and hormonal/metabolic state. The obtained data show a strong connection between leptin level, BMI and parameters of energetic metabolic state (insulin; HOMA index); regression analysis results indicated the participation of leptin in steroidogenesis. Odds ratio (OR) values indicated an important role of leptin in the formation of SA during body weight deficit and normal BMI.

The purpose of the present work was to study the level of microelements and vitamins in adolescents with diffuse nontoxic goiter. It has been shown that comorbid biliary dyskinesia leads to significant dysregulation of vitamin and mineral metabolism: the level of essential elements was decreased and the level of toxic elements was increased. Comorbid biliary dyskinesia in adolescents with diffuse nontoxic goiter was accompanied by a disbalance of vitamins.

The action of a complex of medicinal compounds on the organism of female pharmacists brings about activation of processes of lipid peroxidation. A relatedness has been found out of degree of changes to character of the illness and age. Those pharmacists with a history of drug allergy show the greatest changes, which fact might provide a basis for forming a risk group of the above workmen.

The study covered influence of impulse magnetic field on lipid peroxidation and antioxidant defence in seminal tissue of rats. Monthly exposure to the impulse magnetic field (intensity of 30 kA/m; impulse frequency of 2.5 and 25 kHz) activated initial, intermediate and final stages of lipid peroxidation, increased non-enzymatic (ascorbic acid) defence systems and depressed the enzymatic (glutathione peroxidase, catalase) ones.

Lipids peroxidation (LP) and antioxidant defence (AD) were compared in the patients facing pneumoconiosis and dust bronchitis. The studied group included 35 patients with suspected pneumoconiosis, 75 patients facing the 1 grade of pneumoconiosis, 43 coniotuberculosis patients and 43 patients with dust bronchitis. Active LP was demonstrated, values and intensities of its stages depended on the origin and severity of disease.
