Purpose: Mesothelin (MSLN) is highly expressed in high grade serous/ endometrioid ovarian cancers (HGOC). Anetumab ravtansine (AR) is an antibody drug conjugate directed at MSLN antigen with a tubulin polymerization inhibitor. We assessed safety, activity and pharmacokinetics of the combination AR/bevacizumab (Bev) (ARB) versus weekly paclitaxel (wP)/Bev (PB) in patients with platinum resistant/refractory HGOC (prrHGOC).

Over the past two decades, guidelines for the on-demand treatment of hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks have undergone significant evolution. Early treatment guidelines, such as the Canadian 2003 International Consensus Algorithm, often gated on-demand treatment by attack location and/or severity. Pivotal trials for on-demand injectable treatments (plasma-derived C1 esterase inhibitor [C1INH], icatibant, ecallantide [US only], recombinant C1INH), which were approved in the US and EU between 2008-2014, were designed accordingly.

Article Synopsis
  • Trachoma is still a significant health issue in parts of Cameroon, particularly in the northern regions, where surveys from 2016-2022 revealed ongoing cases of active trachoma and trichiasis, despite previous interventions.
  • A total of 151,800 individuals were examined in these surveys, and findings indicated that two evaluation units exceeded the 5% threshold for active trachoma, while ten units exceeded the 0.2% threshold for trichiasis.
  • Continued intervention efforts, including mass antibiotic distribution and improved surgical access, are needed to address these health challenges, with future assessments required to gauge progress towards eliminating trachoma as a public health concern.

Objective: We examined associations among changes in anthropometry, regional adiposity, and inflammatory markers in Black and White women participating in intentional weight loss.

Methods: A total of 104 women with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m self-selected bariatric surgery (n = 66) or a diet and exercise program (n = 38). Anthropometric, dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry-quantified regional adiposity, and inflammatory markers (C-reactive protein [CRP], tumor necrosis factor α [TNF-α], soluble TNF receptor I [sTNFRI], sTNFRII, interleukin [IL]-6, and soluble IL-1 receptor antagonist) were measured at baseline and 6 months.

Background: Hereditary angioedema is a rare genetic disease characterized by severe and unpredictable swelling attacks. NTLA-2002 is an in vivo gene-editing therapy that is based on clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)-CRISPR-associated protein 9. NTLA-2002 targets the gene encoding kallikrein B1 ().
