Dysregulation of choline phospholipid metabolism and overexpression of phosphatidylcholine-specific phospholipase C (PC-PLC) is implicated in various cancers. Current known enzyme inhibitors include compounds based on a 2-morpholino-5--benzylamino benzoic acid, or hydroxamic acid, scaffold. In this work, 81 compounds were made by modifying this core structure to explore the pharmacophore.

Continuous Microwave Photon Counting by Semiconductor-Superconductor Hybrids.

We present a continuous microwave photon counter based on superconducting cavity-coupled semiconductor quantum dots. The device utilizes photon-assisted tunneling in a double quantum dot with tunneling events being probed by a third dot. Our device detects both single and multiple-photon absorption events independently, thanks to the energy tunability of a two-level double-dot absorber.

Project G-SPACE: protocol for exploring the influence of green space on sleep and mental health among children.

Background: The prevention of pediatric mental health disorders is a growing health priority in the United States. While exposure to green space, such as outdoor vegetation, has been linked with improved mental health outcomes in children, little is known about the impact of green space on children's sleep. Sleep has many benefits, but the factors affecting both sleep and mental health as they relate to green space exposure are not well understood in children.

The Relationship Between Dietary Patterns, Cognition, and Cardiometabolic Health in Healthy, Older Adults.

Background: Healthy dietary patterns can support the maintenance of cognition and brain health in older age and are negatively associated with cardiometabolic risk. Cardiometabolic risk factors are similarly important for cognition and may play an important role in linking diet to cognition.

Aim: This study aimed to explore the relationship between dietary patterns and cognition and to determine whether cardiometabolic health markers moderate these relationships in older adulthood.

Fear extinction leads to a decrease of originally acquired fear responses after the threat is no longer present. Fear extinction is adaptive and critical for organism's survival, but deficits in extinction may lead to exaggerated fear in animals or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in humans. Dopamine has recently emerged as essential for fear extinction and PTSD, however the neural circuits serving this dopamine function are only beginning to be investigated, and the dopamine intracellular signaling pathways are unknown.
