In Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), information on the distribution and genetic diversity of Paragonimus species is limited. Metabolomics measures low molecular weight endogenous metabolites and changes linked to contaminant exposure in biota. However, few studies have explored the relationship between metabolomics and contaminants in Arctic wildlife. We analyzed 239 endogenous metabolites and ∼150 persistent organic pollutants (POPs), including total mercury (THg), in the liver of polar bears and their ringed seal prey harvested from low Canadian Arctic (western Hudson Bay; WHB) and high Arctic (HA) locations during 2015-2016.

Background: The movement toward competency-based education (CBE), endorsed by AACN, has highlighted the need for nursing programs to engage in curriculum revisions. Best practice Writing Across the Curriculum instructional strategies may play a key role in revising courses to meet CBE criteria.

Problem: Faculty may not feel prepared to modify or develop courses to meet the CBE standards detailed in the AACN 2021 Essentials and may not recognize how Writing Across the Curriculum strategies can be utilized to meet CBE requirements.

The automated synthesis of small organic molecules from modular building blocks has the potential to transform our capacity to create medicines and materials. Disruptive acceleration of this molecule-building strategy broadly unlocks its functional potential and requires the integration of many new assembly chemistries. Although recent advances in high-throughput chemistry can speed up the development of appropriate synthetic methods, for example, in selecting appropriate chemical reaction conditions from the vast range of potential options, equivalent high-throughput analytical methods are needed.
