Background And Objective: Diagnosing diabetes-related foot osteomyelitis is sometimes a challenge for clinicians since it may occur without local or systemic signs of infection. Thus, the primary purpose of this article was to evaluate the role of progressive radiographic changes in diagnosing diabetic foot osteomyelitis.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective review of databases of our Institution was performed to identify all long-standing diabetic foot patients who underwent two radiographic examinations spaced no more than five weeks apart and a subsequent magnetic resonance (MR) examination from November 2015 to November 2020.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to investigate differences in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) intra-thoracic staging by using contrast-enhanced computed tomography (ce-CT) at the arterial phase (AP), at the arterial plus delayed phases (AP + DEP), and at the delayed phase (DEP), and to evaluate their potential impact on disease staging.

Materials And Methods: Two chest radiologists with different level of expertise and a general radiologist independently reviewed the chest CT exams of 150 patients with NSCLC; CT scans were performed 40 s (AP) and 60 s (DEP) after contrast material injection. Image assessment included three reading sessions: session A (AP), session B (AP + DEP) and session C (DEP).

Pediatric intestinal pseudoobstruction (PIPO) is the "tip of the iceberg" of the most severe gut motility disorders. In patients with PIPO, the impairment of gastrointestinal propulsive patterns is such as to result in progressive obstructive symptoms without evidence of mechanical causes. PIPO is an important cause of intestinal failure and affects growth and pubertal development.

Implementation of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening programs increases endoscopic resection of polyps with early invasive CRC (pT1). Risk of lymph node metastasis often leads to additional surgery, but despite guidelines, correct management remains unclear. Our aim was to assess the factors affecting the decision-making process in endoscopically resected pT1-CRCs in an academic center.

Aim: To investigate the adhesion and anti-inflammatory effects of GG (LGG) in the colonic mucosa of healthy and ulcerative colitis (UC) patients, both and in an organ culture model.

Methods: For the experiment, a total of 98 patients (68 UC patients and 30 normal subjects) were included. Endoscopic biopsies were collected and incubated with and without LGG or LGG-conditioned media to evaluate the mucosal adhesion and anti-inflammatory effects [reduction of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) and interleukin (IL)-17 expression] of the bacteria, and extraction of DNA and RNA for quantification by real-time (RT)-PCR occurred after the incubation.
