Our study sought to review and summarize the reported health disparities and inequities in the utilization of proton beam therapy (PBT) for prostate cancer. We queried the PubMed search engine through 12/2023 for original publications examining disparate utilization of PBT for prostate cancer. The query terms included the following: prostate cancer AND proton AND (disparities OR IMRT OR race OR insurance OR socioeconomic OR inequities)".

We sought to evaluate sociodemographic, pathologic, and clinical factors associated with emergency department (ED) visits, hospital admissions (HA), and RT breaks in HNC patients undergoing curative-intent RT.
Methods: We completed a Level 3 (Oxford criteria for evidence-based medicine) analysis of a cohort of HNC patients who underwent curative-intent RT at our institution from 2013 to 2017.

The American Cancer Society estimates approximately 268,490 new cases of prostate cancer and approximately 34,500 deaths caused by prostate cancer in the United States for 2022. Globally, a total of 1,414,259 new cases of prostate cancer and 375,304 related deaths were reported in 2020. Well-documented health disparities and inequities exist along the continuum of care for prostate cancer management-from screening to diagnostic and staging work-up, surveillance, and treatment-ultimately impacting clinical outcomes.
