Objective: This study investigates whether early gestational age (GA) at delivery is associated with an increased risk for severe maternal morbidity (SMM) in women with preterm delivery.

Methods: This retrospective national cohort study based on the Programme de Médicalisation des Systèmes d'Information database included mothers who gave birth between 22 and 37 weeks in metropolitan France in 2019 (in utero deaths and medical terminations of pregnancies were excluded). SMM was defined as a composite criterion consisting of the occurrence of at least one of the following events: death, severe preeclampsia, obstetric surgical complications, severe maternal diseases, and admission to the intensive care unit.

Background: Degenerative mitral regurgitation (DMR) due to mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a common valve disease associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Timing for surgery is debated for asymptomatic patients without Class I indication, prompting the search for novel parameters of early left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction.

Aims: To evaluate the prognostic impact of preoperative forward flow indices on the occurrence of post-operative LV systolic dysfunction.

The current definition of osteoporosis includes alteration of bone quality. The assessment of bone quality is improved by the development of new texture analysis softwares. Our objectives were to assess if proximal femoral trabecular bone texture measured in Ultra high field (UHF) 7 Tesla MRI and CT scan were related to biomechanical parameters, and if the combination of texture parameters and areal bone mineral density (aBMD) measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry provided a better prediction of femoral failure than aBMD alone.

Objective: To identify factors associated with intrauterine tamponade failure after vaginal or cesarean delivery.

Methods: This was a nationwide population-based cohort study that used data from the French Programme de Médicalisation des Systèmes d'Information. This study compared the failure and effectiveness of intrauterine tamponade among all women who received the procedure in France from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2019.

Introduction: Septic shock is responsible for high morbidity and mortality rates and its incidence is increasing worldwide. Its evolution over the last few years and the leverage points for action to improve associated outcomes remain unclear. Our aim was to determine trends in the incidence and mortality of septic shock and associated risk factors in intensive care unit (ICU) patients and readmission rates after hospital discharge.

Background: Existing studies evaluating the association between schizophrenia and complications associated with pregnancy, delivery and neonatal outcomes are based on data prior to 2014 and have reported heterogeneous results. The objective of our study was to determine whether pregnant women with schizophrenia were at increased risk of pregnancy, delivery and neonatal complications compared with women without severe mental disorders.

Methods: We performed a population-based cohort study of all singleton deliveries in France between Jan.

Objective: To compare the effect of cervical priming with mifepristone with that of misoprostol on pain perception during surgical induced abortion under paracervical block.

Methods: We conducted a randomized, single-blind, two-center study of women undergoing surgical induced abortion at less than 14 weeks of gestation under paracervical block. Participants were randomized to receive cervical priming with 200 mg of oral mifepristone 36 hours or 400 micrograms buccal misoprostol 3 hours before surgery.

Background: Indomethacin (IMC) as a prophylactic treatment is considered to be ineffective in cluster headache (CH). However, small series suggested the interest of IMC in CH. Some authors support that an IMC test is useful in all trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias.

Background: Herpesviridae reactivation among non-immunocompromised critically ill patients is associated with impaired prognosis, especially during acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). However, little is known about herpes simplex virus (HSV) and Cytomegalovirus (CMV) reactivation occurring in patients with severe ARDS under veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). We tried to determine the frequency of Herpesviridae reactivation and its impact on patients' prognosis during ECMO for severe ARDS.
